2025 High Holy Day Appeal

5786 / 2025 HIGH HOLY DAY APPEAL

Dear CBI Family and Friends,

As we approach the High Holy Days, my heart is full of gratitude for each of you. Your generosity, your time, and your presence are what make Congregation Beth Israel a place where Jewish life is lived fully in prayer, in learning, and in community.

This year’s appeal comes at a time of both opportunity and challenge. Our beautiful building and programs continue to thrive because of your support, but we are also facing growing needs.

First, we must replace the aging air conditioning system that serves our library and classrooms. These spaces are where we teach our children, gather for meetings, and share moments of study and connection. They must remain welcoming and comfortable year-round.

Second, and most urgently, we must strengthen our security. The world around us has changed and antisemitism is on the rise, and places of worship are increasingly targeted, even here in Corpus Christi.  While our FEMA grant will fund many security projects, the months-long delay in releasing the grant funding to us meant subsequent  increases in equipment and labor costs and gaps in coverage. We urgently need to fill these gaps with additional measures, including more uniformed officers for special events, to ensure that when we come together for prayer and celebration, we can do so with peace of mind.

Our goal is $40,000 with 100% participation from our congregation. Whether your gift is $18, $1,800, or more, every single donation brings us closer to a safer, stronger CBI.

Please make your tax-deductible gift today—either by returning the enclosed form and envelope or by visiting www.bethisraelcc.com and clicking on the High Holy Day Appeal link.

I look forward to greeting you personally during services, sharing the joy of community, and building a secure and vibrant future together. May this new year bring health, joy, and peace to you and your loved ones.

L’Shana Tova,

Sue Williams
