High Holy Day Appeal Pledge

Dear Congregants and Friends,
As we approach the High Holy Days, I thank you for your continued support of our synagogue. Your funds and generosity enable us to maintain our facility and beautiful sanctuaries while providing meaningful services and programs throughout the year. The High Holy Day Annual Appeal is an essential part of this funding to ensure our congregation and Jewish life continues to thrive in the Coastal Bend.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees as we prepare for the High Holy Days in our time of reflection, renewal, and repentance, I would like us to come together as a community to celebrate our faith and traditions and to also commit to participate by giving to the Appeal. Last year’s successful High Holy Day Appeal enabled us to replace our large sanctuary air conditioning system. Thank you to all who helped make this possible.

This year, our Appeal will once again have a goal of 100% congregational participation and a goal of raising $40,000. Given the war in Israel, the unrest in the Middle East, and the rise of antisemitism around the world, the funds collected this year will address the health, safety, and security of our facility. Though some funds will be used to purchase a new Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and update our medical response and first aid kits, most of the funds will be used to provide improvement measures to fortify and secure our building. We have received bids and estimates for proposed enhancements that include improved access control, security systems, and building perimeter protection. Though we have applied for a FEMA Security grant for the maximum amount of $150,000, our estimates exceed this and the Board believes we should proceed with some of these improvements regardless of grant award.

We are asking each member of our congregation to make a meaningful contribution to this important effort. Whether you can give $18, $1,800, or more, every gift counts and will help us reach our goal and begin implementing improvements.

Please make your tax-deductible gift today by completing the form below.

Guard our sacred space,
In unity, we stand strong,
Safety for us all.

Amy and I hope to see you at services, and wish each of you a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year!
L’Shana Tova,
David Krams, CBI President
